Un grupo de alumnos de 1º y 2º ESO del Programa Lingüístico del IES realizó una entrevista a Michaela Tricozzi, nuestra Auxiliar de Conversación este curso..

Field trip to Motilla del Azuer

A few weeks ago, we went on a field trip to La Motilla del Azuer in Damiel.  We learned that the Motilla is the oldest pit in the Azuer River Peninsula, dating back to about 4,000 years ago.  Archeologists have disocovered various tools, pottery, and even bones in the pit that we had the opportunity to see.  Additionally, archeologists discovered the way in which the people lived many years ago; we saw the way they cooked, the way they defended their fort, and the way they spent their free time.  

Luckily for us, the Motilla is now open to the public with guided tours, so we were able to pass through the narrow passageways and climb to the top of the fort!

We all had a lot of fun and we hope that the students in the Linguistic Program will be able to go to this site next year!

Halloween 2016

Este curso 2016-17 también hemos celebrado Halloween en el IES Miguel Hernández.  Los alumnos de 1º y 2º ESO han decorado la entrada y las aulas del edificio D. Gracias a las profes de inglés y al departamento de Artes Plásticas por su colaboración.

Thanks to all our students and their parents who prepared lovely Halloween themed food,  we enjoyed scary delicious snacks at break time.

Language Assistant for this school year (2016-17)

Este curso contamos con la ayuda de una asistente americana en el proyecto lingüístico del centro. Así la presentan algunos de nuestros alumnos

English Day

El pasado 24 de mayo celebramos en el IES Miguel Hernández nuestro 1er English Day.

Los chicos de 1º ESO que pertenecen al Programa  junto con sus profesores expusieron ante sus familias numerosas actividades que habían elaborado en inglés.

• Hicieron un paseo por la Historia, colgando un gran pergamino que recogía las etapas históricas que han estudiado. Así como un museo, con pequeñas piezas elaboradas por los propios alumnos.
• Cantaron y representaron dos obras de teatro en inglés.
• Repartimos los Certificados por haber participado en la elaboración de marcapáginas para la ONG Save the Children.
• La jornada acabó de manera muy, muy dulce!!!! Junto con sus familias elaboraron diferentes postres típicos del Reino Unido. Todos deliciosos.

Religion in early civilisations

One of the topics we are studying this school year is early civilisations. The students use different tools to show the presence of religion  in these historical civilisations. These are some of  the examples :

SEMANA INMERSIÓN LINGÜÍSTICA: FARM CAMP

From 7th to 11th March our students from 1º ESO spent a fun-filled week at Farm Camp.

It was a lovely experience. They took lessons dealing with Nature, participated in sports,horse riding, art, music, dancing, drama, workshops ... and 

... all in English!!!

Valentine's Day 2016

Los chicos de 1ª ESO han elaborado tarjetas con mensajes muy agradables a sus amig@s para el día de San Valentín.

There was such a massive participation that we made our own 'cardwall'.

Christmas 2015

Inspired by the Christmas spirit, our kids wanted to send Christmas greetings to everyone: families, friends and teachers.

We also sent cards with lovely messages to their Primary School teachers.

 We decorated the hall of the school and our classrooms.

Halloween isn't complete without a pumpkin.

The corridors were really scary!!!

Skeletons were an important part of our decorations.  Our students had good fun while making them.

El viernes 30 de octubre tuvimos un almuerzo 'monstruosamente' rico con los alumnos de 1º ESO. Though scary... impossible not to eat all up.... delicious!!!!
